Software Vendor, Logistic Software
A largely automated migration to the leading edge .NET environment lays the basis for modernising the LBASE logistics software of the Austrian IT specialist. The current release provides a new easy-to-use look & feel of the user interface and a centralized management portal which may be accessed by any web browser. Until the end of the year, the ported version will be available for 6,500 users of LBASE all over Europe.
By switching from the Gupta Team Developer development environment to Microsoft .NET, Imtech has laid the technical foundation for future generations of the logistics software. At its presentation at the Transport Logistic exhibition in Munich, Germany, in June, the new version 6 of the LBASE transport and logistics management solution impressed by the new design which has been developed by usability experts of the ETH Zürich. In addition to the new look & feel, the software offers significant improvements which enhance stability and transparency of business processes.
„This makes LBASE 6 a future-proof platform providing the user additional benefits and a great usability,“ states Robert Schaeffer, head of development, very pleased. He decided to cooperate with fecher after a successful proof of concept at the end of 2011. „Without the automated migration to .NET we wouldn’t have got this far. And yet our effort has been hardly higher than for an upgrade of a Team-Developer version to the newest release.”
